Jay Park signs with Jay-Z's "Roc Nation" label

Jay Park, or Park Jae-bum, has signed with Jay-Z’s label Roc Nation, something called "a win for Korea, for Asian Americans, and for hard work and dedication."

Park is the first Asian-American artist to be part of Roc Nation, which manages superstars like Rihanna, J. Cole, Big Sean, and Lil Wayne. Jay Park started his career almost ten years ago and was previously the leader of JYP Entertainment’s boy group 2PM, but has since found success as an independent artist years later, founding and becoming co-CEO of his own hip-hop label AOMG.

The 30-year-old is recognised for his rapping, singing, dancing, producing, and many more talents in the 10 years he's been active in the industry, but it looks like he’s only getting started.

From "Fate Number For" to "Our Twenty For"

WINNER is getting ready for its next album “Our Twenty For,” which will be released on August 4 at 4PM KST, exactly four months after their last EP “Fate Number For.”

YG Entertainment released a teaser image on its official blog, where the four members can be seen at an outdoor pool, suggesting a Summer hit is coming up. “Our Twenty Four” is said to be representing youth, passion, and the members’ close friendship, with the number 24 is also representing the current average age of the members.

Meanwhile, the group appears to have shot its music video in Hawaii, as can be seen on YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun-suk’s instagram, where he posted a couple of short teaser clips.

Producer duo GroovyRoom shoots up the charts

The first EP by producer duo GroovyRoom is doing exceedingly well on the charts, not to mention that it features an all-star line-up of contributions from Jay Park, Ailee, Dok2, Verbal Jint, and more.

The duo's seven-track album “Everywhere” is literally everywhere on the charts now, and rapidly gaining popularity is their title song “Sunday,” which features Heize and Jay Park and has been ranking 1st on 2 major Korean charts as of Tuesday morning.

Known for their great old-school sound and boom bap beats, GroovyRoom debuted in 2015 and participated in tracks for Dynamic Duo, Olltii, Cheetah, and many more. The two 1994-born producers have been active underground as well as on mainstream, and have been acknowledged by many musicians for their talent despite their young age.
