GOT7 unit JJ Project sweeps album charts around the globe
JJ Project, the GOT7 sub-unit featuring JB and Jinyoung, has made a stunning comeback with their new EP Verse 2. The duo's latest release has been warmly-received by fans all over the world, which has pushed the album to No.1 of 12 iTunes album charts in countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.
Their latest title song, “Tomorrow, Today,” has also been well-received and it revolves around the unlimited potential of young people, but also their vulnerability when making choices in life. JB and Jinyoung both took part in the lyrics and composition of the track, which has elements of pop, alternative rock, and hip hop.
Meanwhile, JYP Entertainment CEO, Park Jin-young, spoke very highly of the two talented members via a message on Instagram on the day of JJ Project’s album release, saying he wished his company would be full of singers and actors like them.
Girls' Generation and former member Jessica to release albums back-to-back
Just a few more days left until Girls’ Generation showcases their upcoming new album Holiday Night at a fan meeting on August 5, which will mark their 10-year anniversary. The eight-member group have unveiled teaser photos, interviews, as well as a part of the mid-tempo pop ballad “One Last Time”, raising fans’ anticipation day by day. The group’s sixth album, which includes the double title tracks “Holiday” and “All Night” will be made public on August 4 on music streaming sites, while the physical album will be released three days later.
Interestingly, that former member Jessica’s new solo album My Decade will be on the market just days later on August 9. As suggested by the title, Jessica's new album will also mark her 10th year since her debut, and the singer is also scheduled to hold an anniversary concert later this month.
