Ever since BTS kicked off their U.S tour and scored their big win at the Billboard Music Awards earlier this year, the boys have quickly garnered established a big fanbase in America, so much so that the group are now among the music artists that Americans love most according to the New York Times!
In a new list compiled by the New York Times titled "What music do Americans love most?," the top 50 most artists were ranked based on YouTube views corresponding to each American state. Each artist was "mapped" according to how popular they are in each American state; the darker the colour of the state, the more "popular" they are in that state.
BTS came in on the list at an impressive No.44 ahead of other established artists like Lady Gaga, Linkin Park, and Metallica. Not only did the New York Times note that BTS are "one of K-pop's most famous boy bands," the popularity map showed that the group were especially popular in Hawaii, parts of California, and interestingly, areas in northern Wisconsin.
You may be 44th on the New York Times' list for now, BTS, but there's no reason that you won't be able to rise even higher in the future!
