Ever since KCON made a huge splash on the K-pop scene in 2012, it has quickly established itself as the largest Korean music and culture convention in the world.
With KCON making its way to Australia for the first time next month (September), we thought we'd get ready for the event by taking a trip down memory lane.
So without further ado, here are the 7 most memorable moments (in no particular order) that have happened at KCON since it first kicked off in 2012!
7. When G-Dragon teamed up with Missy Elliot for an awesome collab stage at KCON LA 2013
Having G-Dragon on the artist line-up was always going to be a guaranteed dose of awesome, but the BIGBANG leader proceeded to blow everyone's expectations when he brought rapping superstar Missy Elliot onstage for an awesome performance of the track "Niliria!"
6. Jung Joon Young and Rap Monster whipping out a fantastic Michael Jackson cover at KCON 2014
Jung Joon Young is perhaps better known for his rock star presence than for his dance moves, which was why his surprise cover of Michael Jackson's "Black or White" at the end of his set list proved to be a massive hit with the fans.
The best part of it all though? When BTS' Rap Monster came up from the stage for the song's rap section before joining in on awesome dancing!
5. IU being the most adorable thing ever during her KCON 2014 performance
KCON 2014 had many unforgettable performances, but IU made her time on stage extra memorable by simply being her usual humble modest self.
The best part was when IU spoke to the crowd in English between songs, telling all the fans nervously that it was her first time in L.A and that she was super nervous because English was hard for her. AWWW!
4. EXO charming absolutely everyone at KCON 2013
From wowing fans with their trademark razor-sharp performances to charming absolutely everyone with their looks and humour during fan engagements, EXO was one of the biggest highlights of the event.
If EXO's previous KCON experience is anything to go by, their KCON Australia visit is going to be LIT!
3. KCON hitting Japan for the first time in 2015
2015 saw KCON expand into new territory for the first time, with additional events being held in New York, South Korea in Jeju, and of course, Japan!
With an all-star artist line-up featuring GOT7, Super Junior, Kangnam, My Name, Lovelyz, Block B, Sistar, Infinite, B1A4, 2PM's Jun. K, and Supernova, the event was a massive hit among the Japanese fans!
2. The super-cute hosting from Ailee and BTS' Rap Monster at KCON 2016
BTS were scheduled to perform on the Saturday of KCON 2016, but Rap Monster decided to have some fun a bit earlier when he joined Friday performer Ailee, as her co-host for the event.
Between goofy jokes and super-cute chemistry, watching Ailee and Rap Monster banter as co-hosts was worth the price of admission alone! (On a side note, Rap Monster and Ailee should host everything from now on)!
1. The very first KCON back in 2012
How could we not talk about the very first KCON event way back in 2012, one that proved to be so popular that it kicked off something special in the years to come?
Held on October 13 in California, KCON '12 was an immediate success with over 20,000 people attending and attracting an all-star line-up that included 4Minute, B.A.P, EXO-M, NU'EST, VIXX, and G.Na!
