Sales of Korean music in Japan have been on the decline in the last few years, but now it looks like they're back on the rise again!
According to Asia Numbers, BTS are one of the top ten highest-selling boy bands in Japan this year, with sales of approximately 380,000 copies.
Their biggest seller was the Japanese version of their smash hit "Blood Sweat & Tears," which sold 310,000 copies. They also had a successful compilation album called The Best of Bodan Shonendan, which reached the top ten of the Oricon Weekly Album Chart.
K-pop sales in Japan have been on fire this year. TWICE's compilation album, #TWICE, has sold over 230,000 copies, making it the best-selling Korean girl group album in five years, while BLACKPINK's self-titled debut just hit No. 1 on the Oricon Daily Album Chart. iKON also just topped Oricon's Weekly Singles Chart with their latest single, New Kids: Begin.
It's great to see all these talented artists doing so well!
