DIA's Yebin and Somyi announced on Monday that they will be joining KBS' upcoming survival show, Idol Rebooting Project: The Unit.
The pair announced their decision on Instagram with a handwritten letter, revealing that they have the full support of their agency, MBK Entertainment, and their fellow DIA members.
Yebin, 20, is DIA's main vocalist, and has been with the group since they debuted in 2015. Somyi, 17, is DIA's maknae, and was added to the group in April for their "Will You Go Out With Me?" comeback.
DIA are currently busy promoting their single "Can't Stop," which has so far failed to crack the top 100 of the Gaon Digital Chart.
This isn't the first survival program that DIA members have been on. Both Jung Chaeyeon and Ki Huihyeon appeared on Produce 101 last year. The pair received a lot of popularity from the show, with Chaeyeon finishing 7th overall and making it into I.O.I.
Other idols confirmed for The Unit include former T-ara member Ahreum, Dal Shabet's Subin, and members from Brave Girls, BIGSTAR, and Boys' Republic. Many other notable groups are currently in talks to appear on the show, including LABOUM and Boyfriend.
The Unit gives idols who have already debuted before the chance to re-debut in a new 10-member boy group or girl group. The winners will promote in their new group for approximately seven months.
Idol Rebooting Project: The Unit premieres in October on KBS.
