Seo Taiji’s 25th Anniversary concert will be remembered for 250 years, is what Seo told his fans, who gathered for the big event on Saturday.
The Olympic main stadium was filled with 35,000 fans in Seoul for the singer's long-awaited retrospective concert, celebrating a quarter century since his official debut as leader of Seo Taiji and Boys.
The 45-year-old musician, who’s been called the ‘Culture President,’ and icon of early K-pop, performed to 27 songs from his first-to-ninth album, including Seo Taiji and Boys hit tracks "My Everything," "I know," "Certain Victory," and "Come Back Home," and Seo’s solo pieces "Ultramania," "Internet War," and "Christmalo.win."
While in the nineties it was YG Entertainment Chief Yang Hyun-suk and Lee Ju-no who performed alongside Seo, for this concert it was BTS who collaborated with Seo. Two members for each song performed the exact way it was done two decades ago.
Seo thanked BTS and everyone else who took part in the concert for turning it into a festival and expressed his love towards his fan, saying Seo Taiji’s 25 years were also the fans’ 25 years.
BTS’ new album gets more than 1 million pre-orders
BTS breaks record after record. This time the number of pre-orders for their upcoming EP album has reached more than 1 million copies.
According to Big Hit Entertainment, Loen Entertainment - the distributor for the new record “Love Yourself” - has already received 1.05 million pre-orders. That’s much more than the 700,000 pre-orders for the group’s “Wings: You Never Walk Alone” album earlier this year.
And that’s not all. The figure will substantially be higher when counting in overseas orders. Pre-orders on Amazon’s “CDs & Vinyl” category hit number one last Wednesday.
The album is set to be released on September 18.
