A new animated film will transform Batman into a crime fighting ninja.

According to PolygonJoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Producer Jumpei Mizusaki will direct Batman Ninja, an animated feature-length film that will adapt the caped crusader into a ninja setting. Afro Samurai creator Takashi Okazaki will act as character designer with Kill la Kill writer Kazuki Nakashima screenplaying.

Warner Bros. Japan have yet to reveal further information besides describing the project as being an, “imaginative take on Batman and many of his connected characters.” A panel at New York Comic Con, which will feature Mizusaki, Okazaki, Nakashima and English language screenplay writers Leo Chu and Eric Garcia, will offer a sneak peak of the film.

New York Comic Con runs from October 5-8 with the panel taking place on the 5th. Batman Ninja is said to release in 2018.
