Yesterday saw a massive bombshell drop in the form of three Girls' Generation members (SeohyunSooyoung, and Tiffany) deciding not to renew their contracts with SM Entertainment, resulting in an overwhelming amount of feels from their many fans. While a majority of SONEs were sad but supportive of the members' contract decision, there were some who reacted really poorly.

Following the contract news, some Girls' Generation fans reacted so angrily that they tore up their own copies of Taeyeon and the group's albums before uploading photos of the ruined CDs and sleeves onto a group chat (along with messages saying "I'm so angry", "Seriously", "I can't stand this").

Needless to say, this resulted in some shocked reactions from the fandom:

  • "They're not true fans..."
  • "What is wrong with them? If they're really a fan then they should be cheering them on no matter what"
  • "They're only wasting their CDs"
