No Game No Life: Zero is coming to Australia later this year.

The film prequel to Madhouse’s comedy adventure set in a virtual world No Game No Life will premiere for the first time in Australia at Madman’s Anime Festival.

Set thousands of year prior to the 2014 TV series, No Game No Life: Zero follows a world of chaos and destruction. Amidst war-torn lands, a young boy named Riku meets Shuvi, an android who wishes to learn what it means to have a human heart.

Based on the light novel by Yuu Kamiya, the film is directed by No Game No Life and Prince of Stride: Alternative Director Atsuko Ishizuka. Jukki Hanada (Nichijou, Steins;Gate, Chobits) worked on the script with the film’s theme, “There Is A Reason”, performed by Konomi Suzuki.

Madman will also be premiering ex-Studio Ghibli team, Studio Ponoc’s Mary and the Witch’s Flower, and the first film in the new Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] trilogy, I. presage flower. Madman Anime Festival will be held at the Melbourne Convention Centre November 3-4.
