Ghost in the Shell anime film Director Mamoru Oshii is working on a book about Studio Ghibli.

According to Cinema Today, as translated by Crunchyroll, Oshii’s new book, Let’s Talk About the Ghibli That No One Talks About, will explore the unexplained stories of the studio from their first big film, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind in 1984 to When Marnie Was There in 2014.

The book will dedicate chapters to many of the studio’s high profile individuals, including beloved Director Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Howl’s Moving Castle) and Isao Takahata (Only Yesterday, Grave of the Fireflies). The Director of Netflix’s upcoming Devilman Crybaby seinen anime series, Masaaki Yuasa, will illustrate the book’s cover.

Mamoru Oshii is best known for directing the classic Ghost in the Shell anime films and creating Blood: The Last Vampire, as well as a short in Bungie’s collection of Halo-inspired anime shorts, Halo Legends. He has also written several manga series such as Hellhound: Panzer Cops and Blood: The Last Vampire: Night of the Beasts.
