There's been a friendly rivalry brewing between the survival shows Mix Nine on JTBC and The Unit on KBS. Both programs have very similar concepts and star-studded lineups, and they both premiered within a day of each other.

Now the viewer ratings for both shows have come in, and it looks like they're both going to be a success.

Korea Herald reports that The Unit reached 5 per cent for its first episode, before climbing to 6.2 per cent for its second.

Mix Nine was much lower with 1.919 per cent for its first episode, according to Naver. However, Mix Nine airs on a cable channel, while The Unit is on public broadcast, which explains why there's such a large gap between the ratings.
