The new season of Attack on Titan is coming in 2018, alongside a compilation movie.

Announced during the Attack on Titan Reading & Live Event Orchestra concert, the third season of Attack on Titan is scheduled to air in July 2018. Anime studios Production I.G. and Wit Studio didn’t confirm how long the season will be, but the new key visual shown during the announcement hints to the Uprising Arc.

A compilation film called Roar of Awakening is also in development. The film will recap events from season two with additional scenes to help transition fans into season three. Roar of Awakening is expected to release in Japan on January 13.

Based on Hajime Isayama’s manga of the same name, Attack on Titan follows a world where humanity is near extinction, hiding behind walls from enormous human-eating creatures called titans who inhabit the lands. The series follows childhood friends Eren, Mikasa and Armin who on one fateful day, witness a colossal titan break down the wall protecting them from the outside world.

Madman will be hosting an Attack on Titan exhibition at Madman Anime Festival in Melbourne this weekend, alongside the voice of Eren, Bryce Papenbrook, as a special guest.
