With TWICE and GOT7 doing incredibly well these days, JYP CEO J.Y. Park is in an enviable position of having two of K-pop's hottest groups signed to his company. As it is with popular K-pop groups, dating rumours will inevitably come up and this is something that the JYP CEO has strong thoughts about when it comes to his artists!
On the November 30 episode of tvN's Life Bar, J.Y. Park was asked about his thoughts on dating, particularly dating between his own artists. Sharing some of his own experiences about revealing his relationship status publicly, the JYP CEO says that dating negatively affected his votes on music programs though he did say that "Later on over time, I'll be accepted for my talent than popularity."
Armed with his ever-present sense of humour, MC Heechul decided to ask "So then how would you feel if GOT7, TWICE, or Jeon So Mi confidently say 'Yes', when they're asked if they have boyfriend or girlfriends?" to which J.Y. Park laughed and said "Well, I don't think it's right for them to lie so they should just not date at all."
Needless to say, this response prompted even more laughter as the panel all pointed out the irony between J.Y Park's rule on dating and his thoughts on getting accepted for talent than popularity, to which he then replied "I'm saying this for them. Because it's hard! Really hard. I mean, do you want to keep losing on text-in votes? You can't live like that."
Sooo, does that mean #GOTTWICE won't ever happen then...?
