The Girls' Generation leader was recently at fault for causing a car crash.

Taeyeon was recently involved in a car accident in which she was at fault for causing a crash involving three cars, including her own. In the days since the incident, reports of the singer working to compensate the victims, as well as malicious rumours and comments, have surfaced, and now SM Entertainment has issued out a new statement regarding what is happening regarding the accident.

In SM's new statement, the company confirms that the Girls' Generation leader has apologised to all the involved parties and is working with insurance companies to sort out compensation for damages.

In regards to the subsequent slew of malicious comments directed to Taeyeon after the accident, SM have also stated that it will take legal action against anyone responsible for spreading the aforementioned comments, writing “In addition, [SM] are gathering groundless rumors and malicious comments posing personal attacks, which have been spreading on the Internet after the car accident, and lawsuits will be filed. In 2014, those spreading malicious comments and rumors were sued and received legal punishment. Including those with this incident, [SM] will take strong legal action against rumors and malicious comments in the future.
