Rain's been successful in music, television dramas, movies and recently just had a child with his wife, famous actress Kim Tae-hee.

Rain recently made his comeback with title track “Gang” from his new album My Life.

Let’s get to know more about the superstar!

1. Rain started his career in a group called Fanclub at the age of 16. The group disbanded after releasing two albums.

2. For the movie Ninja Assassin, Rain didn’t have any martial arts experience. To prepare him for the role he did six months training in martial arts with stunt choreographers.

3. In 2014 Rain starred in Chinese drama Diamond Lover. Reports say he received nearly US $5.4 million for the 24 episode production because of his huge popularity. (That’s roughly US $225,000 per episode! *Mindblown*).

4. Rain and Kim Tae-hee first met while shooting a commercial together. Rain would come to set even when it wasn’t his turn to film, watching Kim Tae Hee shoot her parts. (Awww!).

5. Rain was voted by fans as the TIME 100 Poll’s most influential person of 2006, 2007 and 2011. He came in second place in 2008.

6. Before being accepted as a solo artist at JYP Entertainment Rain auditioned, and was rejected, by 19 other agencies (practice makes perfect!).

7. Rain is a workaholic apparently. He held a concert in Japan just two days after he finished filming Ninja Assassin (work ethic goals!).

8. Three of Rain’s albums (It’s Raining, Rain’s World and Rainism) all sold over 1 million copies. An extremely rare feat, even for popular k-pop groups.
