Usually within K-pop groups singing and rapping are allocated to different members of the group although here are idols that are able to pull off both!

Hyolyn (former SISTAR)

There’s no doubt the K-pop world knows about Hyyolyn’s incredible vocal skills but it was when she participated in Unpretty Rapstar: Season Two that she got complimented for her rapping ability. Many people wondered why she would even enter a rap survival show and would be eliminated immediately but Hyolyn proved her doubters wrong by placing as the second runner-up on the show.

Check out her performance of “My Love” ft. Basick showcasing her singing and rapping abilities in one performance.

Jay Park (former 2PM)

Jay Park started off his career as the leader and vocalist in group 2PM. When he left the group in 2009, Jay Park started to upload covers of songs and freestyle raps to his YouTube channel before making his solo debut in South Korea. He is now the founder of rap and R&B record label AOMG which has helped him create his new found hip-hop image.

T.O.P (BIGBANG)

While T.O.P is known as the cool, charismatic rapper of BIGBANG, he also has the ability to sing. In the group's "M.A.D.E." album, T.O.P showed off his unique husky singing on tracks such as “Let’s Not Fall In Love”, “If You”, “Loser” and “Last Dance”. As a fan of BIGBANG, it was nice to see T.O.P use his vocals which gave their latest songs a refreshing feeling.

Jessi

Before Jessi became the popular, outspoken rapper she is today, she was a member of hip-hop trio Lucky J where she was the main vocalist. The group lasted two years and it was when Jessi starred in Unpretty Rapstar: Season One where she found fame from her strong personality and skilled rapping.

Watch Jessi show off her vocals in Lucky J’s MV “No Love”.

Chanyeol (EXO)

True fans of Chanyeol will know that while he is listed as EXO’s main rapper the man can also sing his heart out. He loves to compose music for the group and his singing has improved a lot over the years.

Jennie (BLACKPINK)

It’s hard to categorise Jennie as a singer or rapper because she’s able to both extremely well. She slayed her opening rap in their debut track “Boombayah” and nailed the chorus of “As If It’s Your Last”. Her versatility helps give BLACKPINK more depth to their music and are much better off for it.

Moonbyul (MAMAMOO)

If you’re new to MAMAMOO you probably think that Solar, Wheein and Hwasa are the only singers while Moonbyul is simply the rapper. While that is correct according to their profiles, Moonbyul is actually an incredible singer and even auditioned to be one, it was just her rapping skills were much better that everyone else. Moonbyul has sung on various occasions including radio, concerts and variety shows.

J-Hope (BTS)

J-Hope is known to fans as BTS’ hidden vocal. There are rare instances where he sings but when he does its steady and well trained. Hopefully in the future we’ll get to see J-Hope singing more on future tracks.

Zico (Block B)

Zico is known to be one of the most creative influences on the hip-hop scene with his ability to create trendy songs for Block B, himself and popular rap survival show Show Me The Money. Zico’s seems to be more open to sharing his vocals on his tracks such as “I Am You, You Are I” and “She’s A Baby” which have both been successful.
