The longer they promote, the longer we get to stan them!

Mnet's upcoming girl group survival show, Produce 48, has just announced that the winning group will sign a 2.5 year contract.

The contract length is significantly longer than the contracts from the first two seasons of Produce 101. Season one's I.O.I. promoted for just 10 months, while season two's Wanna One are currently in the middle of their 18 month contract.

The length isn't a huge surprise considering the enormous popularity of both I.O.I. and Wanna One, so it makes sense that Mnet want to keep their next group together for much longer.

Produce 48 will bring together 48 trainees from Japan's AKB48 system and 48 girls from South Korea to form a special Korean-Japanese girl group that will promote all over Asia.

Filming started this week, and the show will officially premiere in June.

Are you looking forward to Produce 48?
