The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Provincial Special Detective Division have confirmed that they will be requesting an arrest warrant for Jung Joon Young.

The decision comes six days after the singer was booked on charges of spreading hidden camera footage and photos. The police will be requesting the warrant for violating the act on Special Cases concerning the Punishment etc. of Sexual Violence Crimes.

The singer has gone through two rounds of police questioning, the first lasting 21 hours and focusing on charges of filming and distributing illegal hidden camera footage of himself engaging in sexual relations with different women.

The chatrooms in which he shared the footage included male celebrities, businessmen and non-celebrity friends. It has also been revealed that members of the chatroom discussed prostitution, police bribery and shared other illegal hidden camera footage.

It was also recently reported that Jung Joon Young had received services from a prostitute gifted to him by former Yuri Holdings CEO, Yoo In Suk, and had used a contact in the police force to remove proof in his 2016 case of filming a woman without her consent. It's also believed he's been under investigation by police since November 2018 for hidden camera footage.
