Kang Daniel's agency, LM Entertainment, have released an official statement regarding the legal dispute they're currently engaged in with the former Wanna One member.

Kang Daniel recently filed for suspension of his contract with the agency, citing that LM Entertainment had signed his exclusive contract rights to third parties. The agency have now responded to say that the unconsented contract assignments were just payments from MMO Entertainment, Kang Daniel's former agency.

According to LM Entertainment, the contract is a standard exclusive contract and that they provided the down payment to secure the contract. Kang Daniel's team claimed the contract was unreasonable before it came into effect, which led them into mediation. The mediation was unsuccessful, with Kang Daniel's team claiming the idol never received the down payment.

LM stated that they found it impossible to negotiate with Kang Daniel's side because they kept switching lawyers and claims. In their statement the agency said:

"Although LM Entertainment began preparation for Kang Daniel's solo promotions as soon as the contract period began, we apologise to both the fans and the public for having to deliver such news.

Even though we have no choice but to take part in this legal dispute, LM Entertainment will continue to make the effort to restore trust with Kang Daniel, to draw up amicable agreements and promote activities in the future."
