BTS were one of the best-selling artists worldwide in 2018, and now it's statistically proven that they were one of the key artists in helping boost music sales globally.

Along with Drake and Ariana Grande, the IFPI - who represent the global music industry - have stated that BTS are the second biggest recording artist of 2018, just behind of Drake, and ahead of Ed Sheeran.

The group's massive sales for Love Yourself: Answer and Love Yourself: Tear, which were the second and third best-selling albums of 2018 respectively, totaled over 5 million. These sales played a big part in the music industry earning its biggest revenues in a decade.

The IFPI have stated that the music market is now worth $19 billion, close to 2006 levels, thanks to a massive increase in streaming over the last few years. Overall revenue for the industry was up by 9.7% in 2018, and there was double-digit growth in Asia and Australia.

BTS truly are global!
