The idol is currently accused of drug use and possession

Police have requested for a pre-trial detention warrant to be issued for JYJ member Park Yoochun.

The idol is currently accused of injecting Philopon, a form of methamphetamine, with dairy conglomerate heir Hwang Hana. The pair were publicly in a relationship from April 2017 to May 2018.

It was reported on April 13 that police had procured evidence of Park Yoochun's drug use, after Hwang Hana testified that she had used drugs with the idol two or three times earlier in 2019. Park Yoochun has publicly denied the allegations that he coerced Hwang Hana into using illegal drugs or that he himself used them.

On April 23, police submitted the request for a pre-trial detention warrant, which they have asked for due to concerns that Park Yoochun may attempt to destroy evidence or leave the country.

It is understood that Park Yoochun's interrogation will begin on April 24.
