The judge dismissed the request, citing room for dispute

Pre-trial detention warrants for Seungri and his former business partner Yoo In Suk have been rejected by the court, with the judge citing room for dispute in the main suspicion of embezzlement.

On May 14, Seungri and Yoo In Suk participated in questioning to prove if the police-requested warrants were valid and necessary. The warrants allow for suspects to be held for longer than 48 hours.

The warrant requested for pre-trial detention of the suspects on charges of mediating prostitution services, embezzlement, violation of the Food Sanitation Act, and in Seungri's case - additional charges of purchasing prostitution services.

The judge dismissed the request, stating: "There is room for dispute in regards to the main suspicion, which is embezzlement. It is also difficult to recognise a reason for detention, such as potential destruction of evidence, in regards to the remaining suspicions".

The dismissal means Seungri and Yoo In Suk will not wait in detention prior to their respective court trials.
