Junnosuke Taguchi, formerly a member of Japanese boy band KAT-TUN, has been arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana.
The entertainer was arrested at his home in Tokyo, where it's alleged he kept a few grams of dried marijuana and some smoking paraphernalia. He was arrested alongside his partner of 8 years with whom he lives, former actress Rena Komine.
Marijuana is illegal in Japan, and possession or use of the drug is punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine. Taguchi's case has now been forwarded to the Tokyo District Prosecutors Office.
Taguchi debuted in popular Johnny & Associates boy group KAT-TUN in 2006, and left both the agency and group in 2016. He since established himself as a solo artist and was set to begin a Japan solo tour in July.
