BigHit Entertainment CEO Bang Si Hyuk and BTS have been officially invited by the Recording Academy to join as members.

The Academy, from which the Grammy Awards stem, announced their Class of 2019 today, with a focus on diversity and inclusion. BTS and Bang Si Hyuk would have been selected after a peer review panel evaluation, and while BTS would join as music creators, Bang Si Hyuk would be a Professional member, a category made for music executives, managers, publicists and the like, who work to support music creators. BTS would be voting members, which means they'd be eligible to vote for the GRAMMYs.

Though there's no official word as to whether BTS and Bang Si Hyuk have accepted the invitations, they have until voting ballot deadlines to accept and participate in voting for the 62nd Grammy Awards in 2020.
