Kang Daniel spoke directly to fans last night, in a livestream through his Instagram account.

After announcing that he'd be going live at 11pm on June 9, he broadcasted to his fans and updated them on what he's working on currently. He confirmed that he is in the preparation stage for his solo debut and is working on making music. He also said that he's involved in both composing and writing lyrics for the album, and he hopes fans are looking forward to it.

Addressing his fans' support during his legal battles, he said: "When I was going through a hard time, you were a huge source of strength for me. Now, I will become a Daniel who can give strength to my fans".

He ended the broadcast saying he was off to work on his music and asked fans to anticipate his upcoming content.

Kang Daniel has been unable to promote since the end of Wanna One after entering into a contract dispute with his agency LM Entertainment. Last month, the courts ruled in the idol's favour to have his exclusive contract with the agency suspended, though the company has since filed a formal objection.

Kang Daniel's return to social media sparked a Twitter trend too, with #WelcomeBackDaniel trending at No.1 in Korea and No.5 worldwide.
