Mid-year charts are out and these artists are faves!

As we hit June, Billboard Japan have released their 2019 mid-year charts, showcasing the artists who have topped the charts from November 26, 2018 through to May 26, 2019. The rankings are based on sales and streaming numbers, reflecting Japanese listeners' choices for the period mentioned.

You might have already guessed who the top artists are but here they are for you to consider. If you haven't been listening to them, it might be time to catch up!

2. Kenshi Yonezu
3. Queen
4. back number
5. ONE OK ROCK
6. TWICE
7. Gen Hoshino
8. Nogizaka46
9. BTS
10. DA PUMP
11. Keyakizaka46
12. King Gnu
13. AKB48
14. Aimer
15. SEKAI NO OWARI
16. RADWIMPS
17. Kobukuro
18. MISIA
19. IZ*ONE
20. Ariana Grande

Aimyon took the top spot thanks to the huge streaming success on her single "Marigold", while Kenshi Yonezu isn't far behind thanks to the continued love for his hit song "Lemon".

Only two non-Asian artists feature in the list with Queen and Ariana Grande. Meanwhile K-pop acts like TWICE and BTS made it into the top 10, proving they're just as popular internationally as they are in South Korea.
