For most idols who are lucky enough to get past the trainee period and into a group, debuting is the ultimate dream.
But truth is, sometimes debuting doesn't equal immediate success, and some idols end up back at square one trying to find the right group fit again. Other times, idols are so successful with their first debut, they get to progress onto solos, sub-units or unexpected project groups.
Here are some idols who've been in more than one group - how many of these did you know about?
You know her from KARD now but, Somin has actually debuted three times! First with Japan-based girl group Puretty, then April, all her debuts have been in the same company since 2012.
HyunA is known most famously as a solo artist and as member of 4MINUTE, but she actually debuted first in Wonder Girls. She's also debuted in sub-units Troublemaker and Triple H. That makes five debuts!
Chaekyung is a member of April now but she's been on quite the debut journey. She first debuted in Puretty who disbanded, then she appeared in reality shows like KARA Project and Produce 101. Through the latter she debuted in project group C.I.V.A, then another project group named I.B.I.
Most famously a member of After School, Jungah actually first debuted in 2000 with SZ and then again with Kis FIVE in 2005. Finally she debuted with After School in 2009 and was the group's leader for four years too.
MINO aka Song Minho actually debuted in 2011 as a rapper in a group called BoM, who disbanded in 2013. He then became a member of WINNER, and has since also debuted in the hip-hop duo MOBB with iKON's Bobby. Not to mention he's had a lot of success as a solo artist since appearing on Show Me The Money 4.
Interestingly, Solji can be considered a second-generation idol despite currently being in third-generation group EXID. She was originally in a duo called 2NB from 2008 to 2012, with Blady member Gabin.
Most people already know this one. Infamously, NU'EST appeared on Produce 101 Season 2 almost six years after debut when they seemed close to breaking up. They received a lot of love while on the show, and Minhyun debuted with Wanna One, giving NU'EST a second chance at success too.
Is there anyone else you can think of who's been in multiple groups throughout their career?
