VICTON member Choi Byung Chan who has been participating in survival reality show Produce X 101, has announced his departure from the program due to health concerns.

In a statement shared by Play M Entertainment, it was announced that the idol has been suffering from chronic achilles tendonitis for a while, with the pain intensifying recently. They also stated that this physical issue overlapped with his mental stress, and that "he has been participating in practicing and performances while getting treatment at the same time, but it has become difficult for him to continue in the program".

Play M Entertainment apologised to fans who have given him support, as well as to the program's crew, viewers and fellow trainees.

Byung Chan will be focusing on getting rest and treatment to recover. Read a full translation of the agency's statement here.

Byung Chan was ranked as A level in the program, and has for the most part ranked in the top 20 since the program began airing.

Get well soon Byung Chan!
