In a corporate briefing held on August 21, Big Hit Entertainment's Bang Shi Hyuk announced plans for the agency to begin auditions globally for girl group trainees.

Big Hit Entertainment will pair up with Source Music, the company they recently acquired which is home to girl group GFRIEND, to launch a global audition. The auditions will be held to find trainees suitable for a debut lineup of a new girl group.

Big Hit Entertainment has not had any girl groups debut since Glam in 2012, who were a five-member group managed by Big Hit and Source Music.

No further details have been revealed yet on when and where the auditions will take place, but if they're anything like Big Hit's usual global auditions, you can expect them to go to several countries in the search!
