BTS has been named Group of the Year by Variety magazine.

The title was given as part of Variety's Hitmakers franchise which celebrates the year in music. BTS were named in Variety's print edition as Group of the Year for 2019, stating: "The record-breaking septet has solidified their status as global superstars, rounding out one of the largest stadium tours of the year and releasing a string of top-selling singles".

It was recently reported that BTS' massive Love Yourself: Speak Yourself world tour had grossed US$116.6 million (approx. AU$171 million) in ticket sales alone.
