BTS has already broken one of their own records with MAP OF THE SOUL: 7, and the album isn't even out yet!

The album has amassed 3.42 million pre-orders worldwide within its first seven days, making it the highest number of pre-orders for BTS ever. The group's previous release, 2019's Map Of The Soul: Persona, recorded 2.68 million preorders, meaning the group has exceeded their record by over 700,000 sales.

The numbers were calculated by Korean distributor Dreamus, which factored in domestic and international sales. The album has also been at the top of US Amazon's CDs & Vinyl bestsellers list since pre-orders opened on January 8.

BTS will release MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 on February 21. The group will reveal the first single from the album through an art film performed by MN Dance Company on January 17.

So far they've released the first comeback trailer, "Interlude: Shadow".
