Japanese group AAA has announced plans to suspend activities this year.

The co-ed Avex group will go on hiatus from December 31, 2020. The decision was made by the members after leader Urata Naoya announced he would be leaving the group. Urata was recently arrested by police for assaulting a female convenience store customer while under the influence.

The members are said to have discussed their personal and professional lives with one another, including plans for solo careers, and came to the decision to go on hiatus.

2020 marks the group's 15th anniversary. The group plans to release a new best-of album, AAA 15th Anniversary All Time Best -thanx AAA lot- on February 19, containing 57 songs. They'll also perform a five-stop dome tour in Japan at the end of the year.
