Halsey has spoken about her friendship with BTS and the making of "SUGA's Interlude" in a new interview with Apple Music.

In the interview, she speaks about how her friendship with BTS has grown, from when she initially met them to hanging out a few times and getting to know them.

Speaking about her collaboration with BTS on "Boy With Luv", she said: "It was really incredible because I think [it was] the last song that anyone would've expected us to do seeing as they have some really dark stuff in their catalogue and so do I. It was fun and it was a really awesome experience for both of us... it was a historical moment".

When asked about choosing Suga as a feature artist on her new album Manic on the song "SUGA's Interlude", she mentioned discovering his solo music made under the name Agust D.

"I was looking up lyric translations and I was blown away. I was like, this stuff is so introspective, the content is about mental health and his inner turmoil. And he's a really quiet guy in real life, and I was just like moved."

She also mentioned how fans would probably have been surprised by their collaboration as it was an unexpected pairing, considering she is good friends with RM.

"Suga was probably the last member of BTS that anyone would've expected me to collaborate with and the one whose lyrical approach I felt the most connected to and I knew I had to have him be a part of this record. I knew that he would get what it feels like to be manic, to be introspective".
