Former Girls' Generation member Jessica Jung is set to publish her first book, a Young Adult fictional novel set in the world of K-pop!

The book, titled Shine, is part of a two-book deal, based around a Korean-American girl named Rachel Kim who debuts in a girl group from DB Entertainment, one of Seoul's biggest K-pop labels. As Rachel is thrust into the competitive and colourful world of K-pop, she faces challenges trying to follow the industry's rules focused on perfection - especially when she falls for K-pop star and her label's star boy Jason Lee.

The summary for the novel describes it as 'Crazy Rich Asians meets Gossip Girl by way of Jenny Han', and is inspired by Jessica's own experiences in the industry.

The cover for the book has now been revealed, as well as a first excerpt - you can read it on Entertainment Weekly's website.

Shine is available for pre-order now and will be published on October 6, 2020.
