Lai Kuanlin is still in a legal battle with Cube Entertainment to terminate his exclusive contract, after his latest appeal was rejected by the court.

The former Wanna One member filed a termination request in July 2019, with reasons given such as management rights being sold to a third party without his consent. Since then, the agency has denied any wrongdoing and in November 2019 the request was dismissed by the Seoul Central District Court.

On May 19, the Seoul High Court dismissed his appeal to suspend the contract. Cube Entertainment spoke to Korean news outlet Newsen saying they respect the court's decision and will work to resolve the issue with the artist through talks.

Meanwhile Lai Kuanlin plans to continue his activities in China, where he most recently starred in web drama A Little Thing Called First Love.
