Lay is back!

Lay Zhang has made his comeback with new album LIT and the title track of the same name.

The album has already collected new records in China, where it broke 9 certification records on the QQ Music platform after pre-orders went live, with the album surpassing 1.5 million pre-orders in just over 7 minutes.

For LIT, Lay aims to integrate Chinese instruments and cultural metaphors with Western music, with a mix of English and Mandarin lyrics. LIT itself is a play on words, as it sounds similar to the Chinese character 莲 (lian) which means lotus. Lotuses are seen as a flower that blossoms from dirt, and is a metaphor for Lay's two-part release with LIT.
