BTS and Big Hit Entertainment have donated US$1 million (AU$1.4 million) to the Black Lives Matter movement.

The donation follows their voicing of support for Black Lives Matter on Thursday 4 June, when they shared a Tweet in Korean and English.

According to an exclusive from Variety, the agency has confirmed the donation and are not expected to comment any further on it. It's believed the donation took almost a week to be processed due to the large amount.

BTS join a number of K-pop artists who have donated since the protests began in the USA, including GOT7 members Mark and Yugyeom, Jay Park who donated personally as well as with his labels AOMG and H1GHR Music, and DAY6's Jae.
