The K-drama based on BTS' Bangtan Universe is underway!

The production company Chorokbaem Media has begun production on the drama, to be titled Blue Sky, by announcing auditions for the cast and setting up production meetings.

The drama will be directed by Kim Jae Hong, who has worked as co-director on a number of K-dramas including This Is My Love and Steal Heart. The script will be written by Kim Soo Jin whose recent dramas include The Light In Your Eyes and Mad Dog.

While little is known of the plot for the drama, it will be based in BTS' growth and the Bangtan Universe which unfolded in their The Most Beautiful Moment in Life era and the Save Me webtoon. In Blue Sky, the wounded characters will empathise with and comfort one other as they form strong friendships. The characters will be fictional and not named after the BTS members.

It's been confirmed that the producers will be seeking to cast seven rookie actors in the key roles for the series, which should begin production in September, with the aim to air the show in 2021.
