BTS and Big Hit Entertainment have donated US$1 million to Crew Nation, a donation campaign helping live music crew currently out of work due to COVID-19.

The initiative, created by promoter Live Nation, was set up in March to provide $1000 one-time grants to crew members whose income comes 50% or more from working on live performances. Considering BTS had intended to perform several concerts in a world tour this year, their donation is a show of support to the people behind-the-scenes who would've made it happen.

Crew Nation was launched in March with a US$5 million donation, with promises to match a further US$5 million donated by artists, fans and employees. According to Variety, over 70 live concert crew members who were set to work on BTS' concerts this year have received funding so far, and BTS' donation is one of the largest given to the fund.

In a statement to Variety, BTS said: "If it weren't for COVID-19, we would have been happily touring across the world with many of our live concert crews by now. We are aware that a lot of communities need help due to COVID-19, and we wanted to support the music industry crews by making a donation. We hope to meet again on stage very soon".
