Popular K-drama Hotel del Luna is set to get a US remake.

The English-language remake will be produced by Korean company Studio Dragon and American production company Skydance Television, with Studio Dragon involved throughout the production process.

The American version of Hotel del Luna will be written by Alison Schapker, who has worked on a number of television shows including Alias, Brothers & Sisters, Fringe, Almost Human and Altered Carbon. She will also be executive producer of the series.

Studio Dragon is the first Korean studio to partner with an American production company to develop and produce a scripted television show. Studio Dragon's Hyun Park said, "We believe Hotel Del Luna will enhance the reputation of Korean storytelling around the world by showcasing the global appeal of our local stories".

Skydance Television President Bill Bost said, "At its core, Hotel Del Luna is a spectacular visual fantasy grounded in a story abut the importance of human connection, lost loves and unfinished business".

Hotel Del Luna aired from July to September 2019 on tvN in South Korea, and is available globally to stream on Netflix. The drama starring IU and Yeo Jin Goo in the lead roles was the second highest-rated drama in Korean cable television in 2019.
