Today marks the end of an era in Australian publishing, with the final print edition of BRW - formerly known as Business Review Weekly, hitting the stands. Its owner Fairfax Media decided last month to axe the 32-year-old institution, which will shift to a digital platform, with the Rich List and other premium content migrating to the Financial Review. Fairfax says the decision was forced by consumers preference for digital platforms, and a fragmenting advertising market. SBS reporter Rena Sarumpaet, spoke to one former BRW journalist, Ali Cromie, who insists a litany of bad management decisions killed the title.
