43 countries are set to participate in the 62nd Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, a record high, equalling the total set in 2008 and 2011. The list includes Romania and Portugal who are returning to the competition after a year’s absence. Australia is represented by Isaiah Firebrace, with his song “Don’t Come Easy”. Isaiah performs in Semi Final 1, live on Wednesday 10 May, 5am (AEST) SBS (with the program repeated again on Friday 12 May, 7.30pm SBS).
The Eurovision Song Contest has been broadcast on SBS for over 30 years and is one of the biggest events on the SBS calendar. Last year’s coverage achieved the highest ratings for SBS, reaching 3.7 million Australians across all three broadcasts combined.
