1. Cut from the same cloth

Bosch is placed in charge of the Waits investigation - reporting to Irving - and sets out to prove that Raynard had nothing to do with Arthur Delacroix’s murder. Waits continues to taunt Bosch, insisting they are ‘two dogs from the same kennel’, an eerie claim that may hold more weight than Bosch realises.

2. Bosch Vs Brasher

Julia Brasher claims that Stokes made an attempt on her gun when it went off and subsequently injured her, Bosch disagrees. When Bosch confronts Julia with a cautionary anecdote and warns her against providing a false statement she storms away. Bosh proceeds to give his statement as he saw it, exonerating Stokes and effectively ending his relationship with Julia.

3. The long kiss goodnight

After failing in an attempt to kidnap another victim, Waits tries to refill his mother’s prescription, only to hustle out of the pharmacy as his image appears on-screen. Returning home, he gently dispels her concern, saying that he got her ‘something better’. With a final expression of love and single kiss, Waits smothers her, snuffing out her flickering flame.
