Helen chairs the 2001 Inquiry into Police Resourcing in Cabramatta. Helen Sham-Ho first worked in Cabramatta as a solicitor in 1986.

She became a Liberal Party member in 1988 but resigned in 1998 when Prime Minister John Howard refused to denounce what she considered to be Pauline Hanson’s anti-Asian rhetoric. Helen subsequently became an Independent Member of the NSW Upper House. Her proudest achievement in politics was when she chaired the Standing Committee Number 3 which ran the 2001 Inquiry into Police Resourcing in Cabramatta. Helen retired from politics in 2003.
