I have two children and feeling very apprehensive about keeping them entertained throughout the school holidays. How did you manage to keep five children out of trouble for over a month!? Please give me any tips!
Jenny: Even with five kids, there were no holiday disasters. Nobody was out of my sight. One parent I know was pooing when their child was in the pool, and their child nearly drowned. So scary – when nature calls, you have to poo; you have to shit – but in my books, children should never be out of sight. Anyway, this is the best time to bond with your children; the best time to spend quality time with them.
I don’t know where you live, but in Queensland... there are theme parks. (I saw the advertisements on TV and lately they’re pretty cheap.) My children, growing up, every holiday we went to a theme park. Seaworld. Dreamworld. Movieworld. All the worlds. Also, we lived across the road from the shops and spent a lot of our holidays shopping – probably too much. But activities don’t need to be expensive! If you’re from another ethnicity or race, this is the best time to teach your kids their mother tongue. Go to the library; because (1) everything is free; and (2) there are no libraries in China.
