The Croatian State Prosecutor's Office for the Suppression of Organized Crime and Corruption (USKOK) released a statement on Tuesday confirming the charges, but identified the four only by their initials - in line with usual police practice.

Part of a statement on www.dorh.hr read: "USKOK is before the Osijek County Court issuing an indictment against four Croatian citizens MP (1970), ZM (1959), ZM (1971), DV (1959) for the criminal offence of abuse of office and authority, incitement to abuse of office and authority, abuse of office in an attempt, bribery, abuse of trust in business transactions, and assisting in the abuse of trust in business transactions."

Reigning champions Dinamo are currently four points clear of second-placed Rijeka at the top of Croatia's top-flight division with three games remaining.
