The Southern Stars secured their spot in the semi-finals sorting out the net run rate concerns with a convincing victory against Ireland. The Australians made the 92 runs needed for victory with 40 balls to spare.

Elyse Villani starred with the bat falling just 7 runs short of a 50 when caught by O'Reilly. Her innings included six boundaries. Villani's partnership with Ellyse Perry (29 not out) saw the Stars' home.

Ireland's Clare Shillington and Cecelia Joyce started their innings well scoring an unchallenged 33 runs before Beth Mooney caught Shillington off Megan Schutt. Schutt nabbed three wickets (3-29) while Rene Farrell (2-11), Kristen Beams (0-14) and Jess Jonassen (0-14) also impressed.
