Proving once and for all it's not Adam and Eve, it's Allen key and Steve.

IKEA - land of mass-produced meatballs and couples crying over moderately priced furniture - has launched a new ad campaign featuring a snuggled-up gay couple relaxing on their Allen-keyed together couch.

Part of the company's ~American Dream~ themed campaign, the couple has a flag behind their couch that tells us that "All homes are created equal".

The new ad's purpose is to serve as a snapshot of "the America that's really out there", said Leslie Stone, the advertising bureau behind the campaign. "If we'd put across 20 different living situations, they'd all be equally powerful."

This is not the first time the company has featured a gay couple in their advertising; in fact, the first time was way back in 1994:

So, there you have it. IKEA's not just a place for straight people to break up in; we're ALL invited to bicker and break up while trying to choose the right tumblers for the kitchen. What a time to be alive.
