Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras has announced that 2014 Eurovision Song Contest winner Conchita Wurst will perform at the official Mardi Gras Party in March.

Wurst will appear with Mardi Gras Global Ambassador Courtney Act in a show paying homage to "the art of drag".

The party on March 5 follows the official Mardi Gras Parade down Oxford Street, which will be broadcast on SBS the following evening.

Since her Eurovision 2014 win, Wurst has released an album and even had a sausage (the 'conchitawurst') named after her.

She's already announced a concert at the Sydney Opera House on March 3, accompanied by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Courtney Act will also appear during the concert, along with performers Trevor Ashley and Paul Capsis.
